Yep Moyes is the sort of manager that tells his players not to get stuck in not to run back, not to show passion and not to run run and run till they drop every single match

do me a favour! that what he tells them week in week out if the players cant be arse to do the basic its down to them not Moyes.

They not Moyes need to taken to task on not giving a fuck .
What ever you say about Moyes he does give a fuck and that's ok by me compare to them players last night .

Spot on!

No one is expecting us to be in the same bracket as some of the more wealthier clubs who have 2 trusted players for most positions but with our net spend over the last few windows i would expect us to have a more than a core 13-14 players who are 'trusted' because we literally have fuck all depth behind that.

The depth we do have, as Eerie says has been mismanaged to the point of what we saw last night. Benrahama, Fornals (although he wasn't available last night), Ings, Cornet should all be capable of stepping in. But they now look disinterested, rusty as fuck or not suited to our system (if you can call it that) and thats down to one person and one person alone.

I'm struggling to think of a time Muhammed Ali was knocked out by an opponent that you could compare to Bristol City.

Any takers, for those who think we play like Muhammed Ali?

There really is some shit being posted on here.

This is all down to the manager. Our back up players are coming in cold, they've been poorly managed. Benrahma was runner up HOTY last season, he hasn't turned into a useless cunt overnight. Cornet scored 9 goals in 27 PL games in a shit Burnley team before he signed for us, played for Lyon in the CL.

W
Regardless of who plays, we play shit as a team in most games, most of the time. Kudus got absolute belters on here over his first handful of games, Bowen was shocking last season. Record breaker Haller looked shit for us, as did Italian international Scamacca.

It's not the fucking players, you thick cunts. Cornet might be shit, but you can't judge him on one start and a few minutes here and there. That's what many on here done with Kudus, until he got a run of games.

We play the worst 'football' in the league, and by the looks of it, in the Championship as well. Under another manager, that team last night would win the Championship with over 100 points.

Re: ⚽ Bristol City v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
Bristol City were by far the better team and played the game of football like it should be played - with commitment and a real passion to win the game. This despite the big difference between the respective values of the two teams.

Makes me wonder if there's a culture of elistism or sense of entitlement within our players and that despite their pre-game words, they fully expected to win this game? Expectations were set too high maybe?

When we had the ball they chased our players down giving them very little time to think what to do next. This I believe led to multiple misplaced passes (sort of panic), losing multiple challenges and we didn't win too many of the aerial challenges neither.

Last night 6 players carried the other 5. Those 5 need to be moved on as soon as possible.

- Ings is well past his sell-by date.
- Coufal. I like him but he's too slow.
- Cresswell has served the club well, but it's time for him to go.
- Benrahma simply has to go. Tries to be too clever taking on opponents twisting and turning rather than take the 1st opportunity to cross the ball into the area. Quite often he tries to take the glory going for goal when he should have passed the ball.
- Cornet. I expected a lot from him but all the evidence now points to the fact he not a very good player.Too many times he loses challenges and mis-place passes. All basic stuff really.

I also have serious doubts about Mubama and that he will ever be a first team player, however I see potential in Marshall.

Problem is, does the club have the funds to replace these misfits?

I presume that S is for Simple? Whatever you say, Sullivan has spent decent money the past few seasons, and we're gradually getting better players. It's all we can, with the restrictions that FFP brings.

Said that last night. Didn't really notice it until the goal was shown again later but exactly that, didn't move a muscle until he realised Fab missed it then jogged to try and recover. Silly thing is he still nearly got there so a bit of anticipation and effort and at the very least he may have put it for a corner.

Too many were just jogging about. Agree with NS below about Cornet. If the manager isn't picking you and you actually want to play then you bust a gut, run around a bit, close people down. If you come of knackered after 60 minutes at lease you have put some effort in, but he didn't show that desire and urgency. At least young Callum Marshall had a go in the 10 minutes he was on and IMO should be ahead of Mubama now.

My player ratings:
Fabianski-7 couple of saves did OK
Coufal-0 ripped a new one by average championship player
Mavropanos -0 Made a mistake and turned to jelly
Zouma - 3 OK as a player but not a leader
Cresswell - 1 Not the worst on the pitch but competition stiff in that respect
Emerson -7 One of the few that looked like they gave a shit.
Ward-Prowse - N/A Played out of position to accommodate Soucek. Not a defensive midfield player
Soucek -0 another fart in a spacesuit performance. The smell just won't go away.
Cornet N/A played out of position and looked totally disinterested and gash. Moved to the left and actually beat his man and provided a good cross.
Ings - N/A needs to be put out of my misery. Never was, is or will be a Moyesball player.
Benrahma - berk
Moyes - set up, and out, to fail. So mission accomplished. Another cup insult to the travelling fans.

Mavropanos was not wholly to blame for the goal if you watch Zouma he lets the City player go expecting Fabianski to get there and only when its clear he isn't he jogs back to cover.... If he'd gone with the player in the first place he could have cut out the shot - his legs are gone and it was just lazy.... No way is he a Captain.

People still beating their war drums over Cornet?? Because what I saw last night was as gutless performance I have seen in a WHU shirt since Sinclair threw in the towel at Old Trafford (0-6) in the cup... absolute stinking could not be arsed... jogging around... couldn't be fucked attitude... he had the perfect chance last night to ram his non inclusion down the managers throat and puts in a performance like that... I can forgive shit like the Bubble did... he leaves it out there and looks like he cares... Cornet?? I'd drum him out...

Re: ⚽ Bristol City v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
Last night was a combination of poor management by Moyes and the standard of players we had on the pitch although they are still PL players so should still win games like that. City put a foot in because there was no VAR but we didn't do the same, apart from Benny who got it all wrong. That said Ings, Soucek, Cresswell and Zouma just don't have the legs to get there and put their foot in. Not knocking Cresswell though as he has, unlike the others actually been a long term servant, clearly wanted to leave in the summer and his legs have just gone.

Moyes pre match interview had me worried from the start. It was extremely defeatist so no wonder players felt the same if that was a reflection of his team talk. His obsession with the same team shape as well is bizarre considering personnel changes game to game. I was critical of Cornet last night but as the game went on it was clear he isn't an inside forward but a winger, best used on the left, running to the line and getting crosses in. That may have been more effective than Benny's Strictly Come Dancing stepovers which he takes so long over the chance to put it into the box goes.

We aren't like a Man City where you are going to have 100 million pound players sitting on the bench but last night as others have said showed how wafer thin the squad is. That said how demeaning must it be for some of the youth players to see two goalkeepers on the bench. Why not take another raw defender or midfielder just to get the feel of the first team rather than someone who won't play unless two keepers get injured?!

If we want to move forward the only players who should be first teamers are possibly Areola, Emerson, Kudus, Paqueta, Alvarez, Bowen and possibly JWP if you get a good player in the middle with him. That's a lot of rebuilding!

The players only leeway for that performance is they were doing what Moyes has trained them to do. I’ve said countless times that the best signing we could do is then signature on his P45.

Last night’s defeat was inevitable the mistake being not to have put City away at home a week ago.

We turned up last night with a centre back partnership comprising a raspberry and an error prone partner, a midfield without a driving force and the bluntest, under prepared looking, attack seen for many a day.

Agree Canvey. Mavrapanos didn’t have a shocking performance imo but was one of 3 players who performed ( Emerson, Fab the other 2 ). But a defender like a goalkeeper makes a mistake then everything else is forgotten or ignored. The Greek fella has to work on his concentration and decision making because there is a useful player there.

I would add or suggest that Fabianski’s immobility and age / slow on his feet was a contributory factor as a slightly quicker keeper would probably have got there just in time although risk a pen of course. But that’s the decision making or thinking part that Mavrapanos needs to work on. Don’t think it helped him being in an unfamiliar system of back 3 but early on especially and being aware of Fabs age, don’t take the risk. He’s had 3 situations now leading to a goal although his own goal from a header was something a lot of defenders experience. But tge point remains, work on your concentration and thinking etc

That is part of what the coaching team should do. Even when I played back in the Victorian age, albeit only intermediate level, manager would say about being careful with back passes and awareness etc

Anyway. last night proved Moyes operated with half a squad. 13 or 14 players of 25. Wasted money on 10 or 11 really
